The MA in English Language, Literature and Culture is exclusively offered by DEINA and has been running regularly and successfully since its creation in 1992, with occasional changes dictated by the educational conjuncture. The last of these restructurings took place in 2013, contemplating a new range of courses which can be consulted in the course plan of studies.

A última destas reestruturações teve lugar em 2013, contemplando um novo leque de disciplinas, que podem ser consultadas no plano de estudos do curso.
What to expect? | O que esperar?
The MA in English Language, Literature and Culture at the University of Minho offers a multidisciplinary training in English Studies in the areas of literature, culture and linguistics. The course is aimed at people who wish to develop the skills and knowledge acquired during their undergraduate degree course, whether they are recent graduates or professionals already integrated in the labour market, as is the case, for example, of teachers or other cultural agents. By allowing for two research paths -- the Dissertation and the Project -- the MA adapts to the more scientific or more practical interests of its students.
The students who attend this master's programme can expect to be welcomed by a team of lecturers with a strong teaching and research experience in the field of English Studies. You will have at your disposal a set of modules that will make you acquire and deepen knowledge and skills of research and analysis on gender studies, post-colonial studies, performance and film studies, theatre studies, memory studies, cultural and intercultural relations, inter-art poetics, sociology and the phonetics of language, among others.
O Mestrado em Língua, Literatura e Cultura Inglesas da Universidade do Minho oferece uma formação multidisciplinar em Estudos Ingleses nas áreas da literatura, cultura e linguística. O curso destina-se a pessoas que pretendam desenvolver competências e conhecimentos adquiridos durante a licenciatura quer sejam recém-licenciadas, quer sejam profissionais já integradas no mercado de trabalho, como é o caso, por exemplo, de professores ou outros agentes culturais.
O estudante que
frequentar este mestrado pode esperar ser recebido por uma equipa de docentes
com uma forte experiência de ensino e de investigação na área dos Estudos
Anglísticos. Terá à disposição um conjunto de disciplinas que o farão adquirir
e aprofundar conhecimentos e competências de investigação e análise sobre os
estudos de género, os estudos pós-coloniais, os estudos performativos e de
cinema, os estudos de teatro, os estudos de memória, as relações culturais e
interculturais, as poéticas interartes, a sociologia e a fonética da língua, entre
outras.
